Off the clock
The Avon Descent is a two-day, 124 kilometre white-water race from Northam to Bayswater. M2 Technology Group director Justin Green and his family have been competing in it for over sixteen years, and the blue 007 power dinghy has carried the M2 Technology name down the river for most of them.
The race
Rapids, rock gardens and a river that changes every year. Crews spend months preparing a boat that has to survive both days, and the river decides the rest.
It is the same thing we like about the work: preparation, a good team and solving the problem in front of you. Racing is where the M2 crew spends its weekends, and plenty of our customers have stood on the bank at Bells Rapids watching it go past.

The team
The Green family has been part of this race for more than sixteen years — preparing the boat, crewing it, and waiting at the finish with the rest of the supporters. M2 Technology also sponsors other crews on the river, all racing under the same M2 Technology Team banner.
In our own words
Racing is part of who we are. We have been involved in the Avon Descent across two generations — our founder was racing it back in the eighties, and the family has been on the river ever since. For me it is about setting a goal and chasing it properly: designing and building a custom boat, finding the small innovations that make it quicker and tougher, and the creativity, teamwork and commitment it takes to get it to the finish line. That is the same thing we bring to work on Monday morning.
